Course Outline
Morning
Full day courses start at 9am. We prepare the engine, light the fire and have a general discussion on how our traction engine, Western Star, works and the safe way of driving whilst we raising steam.
Having raised steam and got the feel of the controls we practice driving the Traction Engine in the Farmyard.
Lunch
The course includes lunch for the participants which will either be an Engine Mans lunch Bacon and Eggs cooked on the shovel or lunch in the Chicken Shed Tearoom at the Farm.
Afternoon
After lunch we will set off for an 5 mile (approx.) drive during which time you will be able to take the controls, under the supervision. The course ends around 5pm by putting the engine to bed.
